The grand canyon from Wikipedia
I went to the Grand Canyon during the spring of 2017 and the experience was life changing! My friend and I with no prior experience hiked past the Colorado river and all the way up one of the tallest mesas in our first day carrying close to 50 pounds of gear. We rested the second day and just enjoyed the solitude and breathtaking views. We then hiked back up the canyon the third day which was the most physically challenging thing I have ever done!
That looks great, Connor! I am also a fan of the Canyon (I grew up in Tucson). Later in the semester, there will be a great reading unit with stories from the Southwestern tribes (like the Pima of Arizona), and there's also an Apache reading unit. The beautiful landscape of the southwest is very much a part of those stories!
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear! I am very excited to experience all that this class has to offer. Your teaching style is unlike anything I have ever seen before, but I love it so far! I think this will be a much more interesting way to learn Mythology rather than it being taught in a lecture-type setting. My high school mythology class was heavily project-based and so a blog is the perfect for that sort of stuff!
DeleteYes, exactly: mythology is all about MYTH-MAKING. So a myth class is perfect for projects... which are always more fun than lectures. :-)
